UND's founding partners began working together at a specialty outdoor retail store over 20 years ago and built a friendship based on shared outdoor adventures, world travel, and a certain geek factor. In the early 2000's they worked together again as business analyst and data developer in the IT department of a Fortune 500 manufacturer. After a dozen years working separately (in key role in the phenomenal growth of backcountry.com, consulting in the outdoor industry, and as PhD Data Scientist for federal government), they joined efforts again in 2017 to found UND with the purpose of solving the unique reporting challenges of vendors and multi-brand sales agencies within the outdoor industry.
